SELECT

SELECT
Carthage Area Hospital is pleased to be able to participate in SELECT (Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial). Through a program funded by the National Cancer Institute over 35,000 men nationwide have enrolled in SELECT, a double-blind trial to see if taking Selenium and/or Vitamin E can reduce a man’s risk of prostate cancer. Carthage Area Hospital has 33 men enrolled in the program and will be tracking their health for approximately 10 years.

Although the enrollment phase of SELECT is now over, please feel to call (315) 519-1530 to speak to Ruth Chapin, RN, MS, SELECT Coordinator. She would be happy to answer your questions about prostate cancer.
