Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary, Inc.
The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. is a non-profit support organization for Carthage Area Hospital. Approximately 250 members, both male and female, belong to the organization. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month. Dues are $4.00, $3.00 for seniors and $50.00 for life membership. There are three categories of membership: inactive, gift shop/project and in-service.
Various fundraisers are held throughout the year to assist the hospital in equipment purchases, renovations and special projects. These fundraisers include uniform and book sales, a geranium sale, fashion show and annual Christmas bake sale/bazaar. A house and garden tour is also held in July every year.
In addition to the fundraising events, the Auxiliary also relies on proceeds from the Gift Shop, which is located within the hospital. The shop is filled with a variety of merchandise, including: Polish pottery, baby gifts, cards for under $1.00, garden items, beanie babies and Boyds’ Bears, to name a few. Each year the Auxiliary contributes approximately $45,000 to the hospital.
